DeveloperWorks posts some excellent content. If you aren’t using that site regularly, you should be. Recently they posted an article on using Reader Fields in Notes. If you are familiar with Reader fields and how they work, then there won’t be anything new to you. But if Reader fields confuse you, or if you don’t know what they are, then by all means read the article. Reader fields are among the most useful and granular security features offered by Notes and Domino. Too often I see people hide sensitive data by not including it in easily accessible views or–even worse–relying on hide-when formulas. That isn’t security! If you really need security, you probably need to be using Reader fields (and perhaps encryption). This article shows you how.
