Domino and dojo
Posted by therightnotes on January 29, 2007
IBM is a member of the dojo Foundation and supporter of the dojo toolkit. More than that, at Lotusphere they showed some demos of leveraging the dojo framework to make some impressive web 2.0 interfaces. The new DWA will rely on dojo, and perhaps other templates will use it as well.
All this means that as Domino developers, we need to start learning dojo too. The documentation for dojo is notoriously lacking, and I’m not aware of very much out there specifically for Domino and dojo. Over at Codestore you can download an NSF with the dojo toolkit (or yui) built in. Of course, if you are going to be using dojo extensively, you’ll want it on the server rather than in every database. If anyone knows of anything else, I’d love to hear about it. Maybe someone will host a Domino-Dojo Wiki for specifically using these two tools together!

Hej!
I was not at LotusSphere but do you know any good online resources where I could download the presentations or demos on LotusSphere?

I don’t know of any publically available sites for all of them. However many people are posting them (or related material) on their blogs. Some of the links I have to the right have some presentation material. I know at Alan Lepofsky’s blog (tips and tricks) he has posted his whole presentation.

Hello – sorry if this comes too late, but we just (late June 2009) published a course named “Domino Designer 8.5: Browser Applications and Dojo”. Read more about it at http://www.waresource.com/kurchak/ka1.nsf/8f1ec7851d34b09a852566de0078eb7a/8eda0769423024ee852575dd0063a4d3?OpenDocument. This is designed for classroom training, but complete enough for self-study. You’ll need a Domino 8.5 server and designer to do the exercises.
